We have been in this house for nearly a year and a half and the kids are just now getting to exploring our 6 acres of property.  It seems like we used to go hiking around when we were building the house all the time...then moved in and have been so involved with settling, have not been much outside our immediate fence line.  On Easter, we decided to rectify the problem and took the kids out for some exploring.  Arabella actually packed a fanny pack of snacks because she was afraid someone was going to get hungry or thirsty while we were away from the house.  Gary and I told her how entirely unnecessary it was because were in fact going to still be on our own property, but it seemed to go in one ear and out the other...prepared, she is.
It turned into a nice family excursion.  There is  a seasonal creek at the bottom of the hill that they "mined" for gold (Bella actually has a a mining pan courtesy of Daddy), and Gary and Blake scoped out our property lines.  Of course, there was a lot of flower picking, and Gary helped me scout out some prime photo settings.  It almost like we have a whole other world outside our fence line, and the best thing is that it's all ours.

The Magic of a Remote

We never manage to get a photo where everyone is looking and smiling at the camera.  I think the past 3 Christmas cards have had head crops of one of more family members on them. For whatever reason today, the very first photo I took from my remote turned out perfect.  Perhaps an Easter present for Mommy?  The kids are all happily playing with their baskets of treasures...while I play with my version of treats on my lap top.  Everyone is smiling.  Somebody pinch me:)

All Kinds of Cuteness

Olivia was in full-on cute and cooperation mode last night and let me take some pictures of her.  She looked like a little angel.  I love that I have captured these sweet little looks of her innocence.  I never want to forget.

His Life Is Complete

Blake got to be the catcher at his baseball game this week.  You can see from the look on his face, his life is complete.  When he walked over to show us his attire, he was puffed out prouder than a peacock.  It was so good.

Girls At Play

I can't make this stuff up.  Arabella was blowing bubbles this afternoon and Olivia was trying to eat them.  This seems like a good idea because...

I am still trying to figure it out.  There is no logical option to me, but they looked super cute doing it.  Little Sis will do anything for Big Sis.

My Little Beauty

Liv and Mommy had a girls day out today.  We slept in, dried her hair special and took off for a day that she personally planned out.  What does a 3 1/2 year old girl plan out when it's just her and Mommy?  Lunch and a pedicure, of course.  I have a very big, very creative story teller on my hands:) It was entertaining, to say the least.  We rarely every get time with just the two of us, so it was very special.

She let me take a couple of pictures of her when we returned home.  (I rarely get permission these days, so I jump on it when I can).  I love her soft look in this photo.  My baby girl is not such a baby any more.

Take Me Out For Some Ball

Blake had his first baseball game this week.  His team is the Pirates, and he is super good looking in his uniform.  I like his game face.

Blake Takes the Plunge

Blake owns the family title of "Craziest Buxa" after he decided to go for a swim in the 67 degree pool...and that was just the top of layer.  With his sisters literally cheering him on with some cheer moves, Blake submerged himself...not once, but twice.  As I dried him off the second time I said, "Blakey, you are a crazy dude!"  He said, "No Momma, I am brave."  I will just say he is good.

Making a Splash

It's April.  So logically that means it time to swim in the pool, right?  Maybe not for an adult, but for kids, it's a go.  My children attempted to get into the pool twice last week because it was in the 80's outside.  They would dip their toe in the pool, feel the top warm layer and run to put on their bathing suits.  Arabella almost had Blake jumping into the deep end with a promise of "I'll jump in right after you when you do it."  I stopped in the last nanosecond when it was clear he was actually going to do it.  I am pretty sure it would be shock inducing at the temperature it's currently keeping.
These were a couple of quick snaps I got of the kids last Friday when Campbell came for a play date.  For those of you not keeping proper score, Campbell is Liv's BFF.  Bring on the hats and popsicles...I am ready for this warm weather.

Zippity Doo Da

Grant Preschool had their annual Spring performance this morning so I was a Mom with a camera in tow.  Liv gets excited about singing in front of everyone, Blakey not so much.  I got some shy waves and smiles from my beautiful son while my tiny daughter was blowing kisses and posing like it was her oxygen.  It is so sweet to hear all of their tiny voices.  Zippity Do Da was the big hit.  I am kind of sad to only have one more year of these pre-school shows left:(

My Blakey is in the green shirt on towards the top left, Livvy on the bottom right.  I was so happy to have them both in the same frame:)

Spring has finally arrived in Northern California!  Happy Warm Weekend!
