Livvy, Can I Take a Picture?

I suppose me writing a response to this question is unnecessary given the look on her face. I got 15 pictures of that smunched-up face as her rebellion to my camera before Arabella came over and got some grins out of her. I am saving this to show her when she is older what a little turkey she was when she was two.

Note to Self...

This one is for Blakey. Note to self...never, ever listen to your big sister.

This picture speaks for itself. As you can see, Blake has a broken foot. I told him I wanted to take a picture of his foot to share with GiGi and he begrudgingly stopped playing with his Lego's to come with me. The result is the forlorn look above. How did this happen? Nothing out of the ordinary was really going on. Arabella and Blake were playing at our old house in our master bedroom closet while Gary and I were cleaning up some final things in the garage. I heard some screaming, but kept to my task as I can tell you screaming and squealing is a regular occurrence around here. Half the time it's someone upset, half it's happy...they come get me when it's the former. Needless to say, I was summoned by a very sheepish looking Arabella that Blake had "fallen." When I reached the closet, Blake was crying on the floor and said, "Mommy, Arabella told me to jump from the shelf in the closet and my foot hurts." My first thought was that he had jumped from the low 3 foot shelf and must have landed funny. I looked at Arabella and she started speaking very quickly about how they climbed to the top shelf to jump off - the top shelf is a good 7 feet off the ground. So some how, these two climbed to the top, Bella took the jump; told Blake it "didn't hurt that bad" and sent him to his foot's demise. We honestly could not tell it was broken - no swelling or anything. He was running around like a lunatic later on in the evening across our property and around the house. Our only reminder of the incident was his limp that followed him no matter how over zealous he tried to be. I decided to take him in on Monday to have x-rays just to make sure it was nothing...only it was something. He fractured the first bone in his foot and it was going into his growth plate slightly so they decided to cast him. So lucky him, lucky us...we get 4 weeks of a cast.
The rest of my tale is nothing if not normal for around here. They set his cast and I set out with him on my Monday errands as I had Carol watching Liv and had to get a few things done. On the way out, Blakey said, "Mommy, my foot hurts." I told him he would get used to it...he was fine. He kept insisting that I carry him, and I would because he looked so pathetic trying to walk in the thing. He told me again as we were waiting in line in Costco that his foot hurt. I asked him which one, and he responded, "the one that got hurt...not the one in the cast." I looked down at his foot and bless his heart, the cast was indeed on the wrong foot. Nice, huh? That's what I get for texting while the techs were fitting him...Alas, the cast was cut off and replaced and all is as well as can be...with a four year old in a cast. I am going to win Mother of the Year after this one, huh?

Home Sweet Home

It's taken me almost 2 months, but I have finally done it. I have made my kitchen feel like home. I set the smoke alarm off while using my broiler. My Mother will be so proud...

Super Duper Cooper

Mamma Mia! has infected our household. It has become Arabella's favorite movie as of late and we watch it over and over and over. So much so, that we started adapting some Abba songs to fit our own personal universe. I must preface this explanation with the note that Olivia has the nickname of "Cooper" or just "Coop". There is an odd story behind the nickname that I will take up another time, but suffice it to say, if you call "Cooper", Liv will coming running. That being said, I pick up on my Mamma Mia! story. A favorite from the movie has gone from "Super Trouper" to "Super Duper Cooper's gonna find ya..." I have a whole stanza adapted for her, but I won't bore you with the details. Livvy just loves "her song" though and has been singing it all the time. It's beyond cute, naturally.

She has become such a little love in the last few months leaving behind the little monster she had become for a while. We like to think that she went through her terrible two's early and has moved on. She's still sassy, disagreeable and very contrary, but a tamer version of her former self. We love this Super Duper Little Cooper.

Here are my other two little monsters from this afternoon...

It's Good to be the Boy

Every once in a while, it's good to be the only boy in the family. Poor Blakey spends his life being bossed around by the girls of the house, but every once in a while, he reaps the benefits. Blakey is quite the little love and his sisters are more than willing to hand out kisses when he is not being mischievous. As you can see, it's not so bad being the little man of the house.

I Feel Connected...

I am so freaking happy to be connected to the Internet again that I am singing stupid Barbie songs in my head as I type. Yes, I may be in fact going mad, but that is what will happen to a person without the Internet for nearly 2 months. I have had my droid, which has saved my sanity, but it's just not the same as sitting down in front of my lap top. And my pictures...that has been killing me the most...not to be able to share my pictures with all of the unusual things we have had going on. So my drought stops tonight. I share just one because I am so tired from my day, but I just had to pop on here and share, just because I CAN now. Here are my three little cuties from Sunday all perched up on my scrapbook table; which is illegal under normal circumstances, but if they are going to smile for a cute photo, they get a brief reprieve from Mommy's screeching. It's good to be connected.
