Pumpkin Patch Trek 2009

I thought I would share a few pics from our pumpkin gathering expedition this year. It was a really fun year as all of the kids were finally big enough to really appreciate everything and everyone had a really good time. I think this was the first year in 6 years that either I was not sporting a Baby Bjorn. My back is glad to consider that a thing of the past. Anyway, I digress to nonsense. Here are some of my faves:

Gary's load got 40 lbs heavier...

Livvy was REALLY helping Daddy here:

Big Pooh Bear showing off her pumpkin pick:

Picking out some teeny ones. When I checked out with the wagon, I found it loaded with at least 5 unauthorized additions:

Little Liv's first pony ride. She was very proud of herself:

Halloween, Here We Come!

With Halloween still a week away, the kids are getting more than revved up to wear their costumes. Blake got to wear his to school today for their annual Halloween performance in the pre-school. It was very fun for us to watch our big boy up there. Even big sis got to leave her classroom to come over for their show. They get to wear them again next Friday for their school parade and then once again on Saturday for the real deal. We love seeing our little man jumping around the house and growling, so we don't mind this dinosaur overload. I will have to capture some more pics our of T-Rex, Super Girl, and Leopard Kitty to get you the full effect. Happy Friday!

She Shoots...She Scores!

Yesterday was a big day in the Buxa household. After 3 years of Redding U6 soccer and being completely goalless (is that a word?), Arabella did the impossible. In the last half of the last game of the season, out little Pooh Bear scored her first goal ever. You would have thought we won the Superbowl or the lottery by the screams that were coming out of Gary and I...and really the whole sideline as everyone knew that Arabella was trying to get that elusive goal she had always wanted. Fortunately, we had the video camera going for the momentous occasion. We were right at the end of the tape, so I was able to go back and watch it last night. I thought I was screaming like a maniac, but I think that title may go to Proud Papa. Daddy was deafening. And our sweet Arabella was so very proud of herself - as she should be. She has not stopped talking about it and saying , "Can you believe I got a goal? Did you think I was going to do it? Are you so proud of me?" It's nice to see her so proud and see her accomplish what we had begun to think was never going to happen.

And not to be left out, Blake has been telling everyone that he scored 4 goals yesterday. They were all in his mind, but we love that mind so we let him go with it. We'll see where that "Game Face" takes him next season as he seemed like he was starting to get what was really going on out there in the last few games. He also is really excited to try baseball, so we are going to put out little man in t-ball in the Spring and see how he likes it. I am starting to feel anxious as I type this - Arabella in ballet, gymnastics and girl scouts, Blake is gymnastics and t-ball, Liv in gymnastics...I am a one-woman taxi and it's just beginning. Really. I may never be out of my car by the time they are all in elementary school.

Sandy Barbara

The kids really enjoyed our last leg of the Southern Cali Vacation last week in Santa Barbara - or as it is more affectionately know by Blake as "Sandy Barbara." The kids had tons of fun digging in the sand during breakfast and lunch and even more fun playing with Stella and Elle in their beautiful home. We look forward to our next Sandy Barbara adventure.

A nice Italian fisherman allowed Blake to pull in some mackerel or something of the sort. He was great and Blake was so pleased. The rest of the pics are just some 'Sandy' shots:)

Little Punkin'

Here is our own Little Punkin' at the Pumpkin Patch this past weekend. After we returned home late Saturday night from our Southern California adventures, we woke up Sunday and rushed out to check out the progress on our home from the past week. Then we scrambled to the pumpkin patch for our annual trek for the perfect ones. I have four hundred photos from the 2nd half of our trip to sift through as well as the rest of the pumpkin ones, but I couldn't resist sharing this one of our little cutie. She loved the little tiny pumpkins almost as much as we love her tiny little self.

Hello From Sandy Ego

Greetings from Sunny "Sandy Ego" as it has been so affectionately dubbed by Bella and Blake. During our trip down, they informed us that it was named this because it was so sandy here. I believe it was Bella who came up with this theory. Today, as we were leaving the Zoo, Blake said, "Mommy, if it's called Sandy Ego, why haven't we seen any sand?" Hmm...What to say? "I am a bad Mommy that you have not got to put your toes in sand, but we have looked at lots of sand from afar?" Or how about "I don't feel like cleaning your little bodies off from sand so we have aptly avoided setting foot into it?" Both of these replies are true to a certain extent, but we really just haven't had the time in between our other jaunts. We have done Sea World, the Sea Port Village (twice), the Horner Plaza Mall, had dinner with some old friends, sat for a pastel portrait of the kids, rode around in Cinderella's carriage and toured the San Diego Zoo...and barely come up for air. Oh - and Shamu purposely soaked the children in a vengeful fit, but that's a whole other story. (It wasn't a real vengeful fit, but they believe this) That will be for another time. For now, I will throw a few pictures at you. I have been like a kid in a candy store with my camera. Everything is so beautiful and the weather so perfect. I will come back with more later in the week.
