Crazy in her Daisy

We were enjoying some birthday cake for Olivia's 18 month birthday this evening when we were treated to an impromptu dance from our Pooh-B-Choo-B. When our girls are being silly, we tell them they have "crazies in their daisies." This was one of those times.

Elvis Baby

I think Liv looks like Elvis in the 70's from this picture...

I am slowly recovering from my gall bladder surgery yesterday. As long as I don't move or breathe the wrong way, I feel fine. Fun, huh? I have been receiving flowers all morning...Thank you so much to The Bowmans, The Buxa's, The Plumbo's and all of the girls at Gary's office. I also got another bouquet about an hour ago that was left on my front porch without a card. It's beautiful with a big sunflower in the middle. I don't know what florist dropped it off, but I am hoping someone will claim it so I can offer a thankyou. My living room smells like a flower garden. It is wonderful.

Looking Forward

I snapped some pictures out at our lot this past weekend while Gary and Blake were on a tree cutting expedition. We are so excited and cannot believe that next year at this time, we will be in our new home.

Here are the kids playing in the perk hole. It was hard to get Blake and Liv out of there:)

Skating Princess

Here are a few of those ice skating shots I spoke of. This was Rose's (The American Girl) first trip to the rink so we had to snap a shot of them together. She met a new friend (an actual live one) out there and was having so much fun with the little girl that I lapped her twice before she even noticed me on the ice. The last pic if just one I liked playing with of Blake from playing in the snow that day.

Winter Wonderland

I don't know how I can write about a winter wonderland when it was 70 degrees all weekend, but we sure had fun in the snow. It was so warm and beautiful - we enjoyed the snow without chattering teeth and numb fingers. Gary snowboarded all morning and we trekked up and met him at the ski park at lunch (we needed our beauty sleep). Then the kids got some skiing in before we hit the skating rink for the afternoon. I am working on the skating pictures and will get them up soon, but Arabella had Rose (her American Doll) and even Mommy join her in a spin around the ice. I am paying for the fun with sore legs today:(

I get so excited for Christmas for the kids. I love the anticipation in their eyes...the whole atmosphere is my favorite time of year. I love decorating and especially buying and wrapping gifts. You could call me a 'gifter.' I love giving presents. This year I was taken by surprise by gifts that were given to me. It really doesn't cross my mind anymore what is on my own personal "wish list" as I feel like I have more than anyone should be able to expect or ask for. It's nice, but not the point of my post this afternoon. I was given some really incredible photography equipment and software that stunned me. First, my dear Tara, surprised me with the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2. I literally started crying when I opened the gift bag. I have been rambling about upgrading my software for so long. It was the sweetest, most thoughtful thing. I am so grateful to her for this amazing gift, but also for her friendship. She is one of a kind. Then my dear husband, busy as he is, managed to shock me not once but twice with a coveted flash (he researched and found the one that would be best) and some filters for my lenses, something I had not even mentioned before. It was so very sweet and thoughtful. He scored some major points. So I have had these things for the past couple of weeks, but been too snowed under trying to play catch-up from the holidays. I have been shooting pictures like a maniac, but had not had a chance to test out Lightroom until today. I feel like a kid in a candy store. It is so much fun. I have a few of the pics that I have played around with this afternoon on this post - they are from our snow excursions the past 2 weeks...and then the last one, a picture of Arabella from this last summer that I had fun playing around with the color on. I really really love this program. It is so much fun and so user friendly. I would 100% recommend it to anyone else out there as obsessed with photography as myself. Thank you Gary and Tara. You guys are the best.

Little Livvy Pics

Here are some of my favorite photos of Liv from Christmas. Her favorite things were this baby she got (she loves to feed it and love it) and this little piggy she is feeding below. It oinks and wags its tail at her. She thinks it is the best. I think it's the best when she puts the little piggy up to her nose so it will kiss her while in snorts. It is precious. I love this last picture as it was at the end of Christmas evening after dinner at our dear friends' home, The Lockwoods. Livvy was beyond tired and curled up for some nummies on Daddy's lap. I love the chubby baby feet all curled up in Daddys arms. I wish I could keep her like this.

Butterfly Cowboy

Arabella and Olivia got a butterfly tent for Christmas from GiGi. Arabella began playing dolls in there after Gary set it up and Blake wanted to join her. She told him it was a girl's tent, but he could come in there if he put on these blue butterfly wings. He happily obliged at the opportunity to play with big sis, but also brought his new acquired cowboy hat along. He looked so hilarious, that I had to grab my camera. Of course, as soon as I asked him to smile for me, he began snarling like Ruffy Massin...nice. So we had Ruffy Massin with wings as a cowboy...what a combination.

Winter Wonderland

We spent New Year's Day at the Ice Skating rink in Mount Shasta again. We could not resist the idea of watching our little Pooh Bear test her skating skills. Fun was had by all as Arabella got some fantastic skating practice (I was treated to some "tricks" of hers - think the "Titanic" move while she skated with ease through the center of the rink) Blake was thrilled to spend his afternoon on the sled slopes as they have the perfect place not 100 yards from the rink. As you can see from the photo, the snow was losing it fight with the sun, but that did not keep the boys from having the time of their lives. Arabella was quick to join in on the fun as soon as she finished her skating excursion. Poor Liv is still not at ease with either of these things, but is thrilled to watch from warm arms. I posted this last pic because I love her cranky little look and her eyebrows. Nobody does cranky like Liv, not even Arabella. Anyone who know Arabella knows that is really saying something:)
