How Arabella Does Dirt

Arabella was running around last weekend in her usual attire - a sundress of some sort. Gary was doing some yard work and she went out to join him. He told her she could not come down the hill because it was muddy from watering. She decided to solve the problem on her own and ran inside to get these boots. These boots were gifted to her from Aunt CooCoo for her to roam around CooCoo's own Texas ranch. Arabella put these lovely pink boots on with her sundress and started out the door. It gave me a giggle to see her dressed like that so I grabbed my camera and asked her to wait up so I could take a picture. These pictures were a result of my quick photo op. I don't know where she gets all this posing from, but she sure does have it down pat.

Boogie Bee

My sister always makes fun of me that I like to dress my children up in costumes. She is right, but I can't help it. I was surfing the internet late one night and came upon this sweet little bumble bee outfit that Livvy just had to have. I bought it for her for Halloween (because you need it in July, right?). When it arrived in the mail, I could not resist putting her in it immediately. She loved it as did Big Sissy who loves dressing up Little Liv as much as I do.

Will You Marry Me?

One morning last week as I sat putting on my make-up, Blake came into the room and said, "Mommy, I love you." I answered, "I love you, too." He then said, "I want to marry you" which made me completely melt. I can remember as a little girl saying that when I grew up I wanted to marry my Daddy. It makes me feel so warm and fuzzy that he loves me so much as I adore him more than I can express in words. He has continued to tell me everyday, several times a day that he wants to marry me and that no one else can marry me - not either sissy or Daddy. He told Arabella that she needed to marry Daddy, which she agreed to. Today when I was giving him a kiss goodnight for his nap he said, "Mommy, you are Cinderella." I said, "I am?" He said, "Yes, and I want to marry you. I am the prince." Could he be any sweeter? He sures knows the way to Mommy's heart.

Happy Birthday Boogiboo!

Those tears that I joked about on Saturday have been flowing off and on today. I am being so emotional about my baby girl turning one. We have always called her "Big Girl" in jest because she was so very tiny when we brought her home. She weighed 5 lbs, 10 oz when she was born and was 5 lbs 3 oz when she left the NICU a week later. She was the tiniest thing we had ever seen. She seemed so fragile. I can remember the day we brought her home like it was yesterday. It was Blake's first time to meet her. Arabella had been old enough to meet her in the hospital, but our little one year old Blakey was too small. We put her in her papison to nap after all of the introductions and after she woke, Blake and Arabella sat there each with one of her tiny hands in their own. They started singing to her and shaking her arms up and down. I remember thinking "Oh Goodness - please don't pull her arms out of their sockets" as I reminded them for the first of hundreds of times to be gentle with her. Our Boogiboo has revealed to us though, that she is one tough cookie. This little girl does take any "pushing" around by any older child, related or not, and she lets you know what she wants. She is a strong willed, strong minded third child. And she is my little sweet angel. Thinking back to all of the drama that took place on this day one year ago, I shake my head still in disbelief. What I do realize from all of it is that sometimes things don't go the way you planned, but that doesn't mean they don't turn out perfect. Our little Liv is living proof.

Having a Popsicle Day

Gary got home late tonight so we were trying to entertain ourselves in his absence. Popsicles are a nightly ritual around here (usually in the swimming pool), but tonight we had them on the patio. The kids are so funny with Popsicles. You just say the word and their faces light up. I had some fun with editing the pictures and making them all about the Popsicles. Popsicles are the best. So are these kids.

One Small Step...

Actually it was 2 small steps, but they came our of our little Boogie yesterday. Twice she took 2 steps to Mommy in an attempt to get something fun out of my hands. She has been standing so much, that we knew it would happen soon. Liv has gotten so many bruises from simply standing and falling, I hope she goes easy on us with the walking. Bruises and all, she is simply precious.

Happy Birthday Big Girl!

The baby of the family had her big one year old birthday party today. Her actual birthday is not until next Wednesday so I did not shed many tears...yet. It's going to hit me pretty hard that my last child is one year old...not much of a baby...inching toward being a toddler. It seems like just yesterday that she was born. I had a newborn, a 1 year old and a 3 year old, and I remember people looking at me like I had 2 heads with all of these little kids.
Her party was really a lot of fun today. We kept it low key - 25 guests and laid back activities. I think Liv and the kids had a great time. We basically did lunch, bounce house, cake and pinata with some crafts mixed in for the older kids. She is truly about to walk any day. She stands up on her own every minute or so from sitting position. We are just waiting for that first step on her own. None of our children have walked before one, so it will be interesting to see if our preemie does it first.
The theme was a luau, although the guest of honor donned a tutu for most of the afternoon. She was the luau princess. It's her party and she'll wear what she wants to...

My Little Supermodel

This is Arabella poolside this evening. She is so hilarious with her posing. I love chasing her around and watching her golden locks fly up and down. She is a beauty.

A Face I Love...

Blakey is like a Mommy's Dream. He is the sweetest little soul. The other night when I was putting him to bed, he grabbed my face and said, "Mommy, you're the best!" He makes my heart melt. He has been saying it every nap and night time since. I would give this boy anything he wants. He is the best.

TuTu Much Love

Arabella wrestled Olivia into a tutu again yesterday. I ran and grabbed my camera for this prime photo opp (I can't resist a tutu pic) and got what I could. Liv is quite the little maniac these days. This little girl does not hold still. I was shooting with my ISO a bit low for the lighting and acitivity, but I did get a couple of cute shots. We have a wild little woman on our hands.

Beautiful Pooh Bear

She had just taken her hair out of some braids for the day. I think she looks so sweet and innocent here...everything she is.

Our Latest Little Fishy

Here are some shots from this weekend of Liv in the pool. She really likes it a lot. It's a good thing too considering her big brother and sister are practically little fish in the summer time. Daddy takes the kids into the pool every evening after dinner. He is Superman with all three of them at the same time all by himself...
Liv will actually swim to the edge and pull herself up on the step. She crawled out of the pool for the first time this weekend off the step in an effort to get to Mama.
A watermelon treat at the end of swim time...

Making Daddy Double Proud

Gary woke little Blakey up at 6:00 am and put him into the Jeep bundled up in his Spiderman pajamas for another fishing trip. They had a great time using "Rainbow Power Bait" as Blake will tell you. They caught 10 fish that morning - mostly catch and release. The girls and I met them at the camp ground for lunch at noontime. Gary then got Arabella and Blake back into the kayak because Arabella was determined to catch a fish with her Disney Princess fishing pole. It actually worked even though it was pretty late in the day. They kept a couple of the trout as Gary loves fish tacos. Arabella was so proud to have caught the fish. Daddy was so proud to have little fishermen girls and boys. Liv is next...

Thanks, GiGi!

GiGi gave Olivia a giant giraffe for Christmas. It was so big, we could not get it in our baggage. She sent it to us recently, and as you can guess, everyone but Olivia has been riding it. Arabella requested these pictures on the giraffe and accessorized herself...naturally. It's taken me a month to remember to put these up, but she looked so adorable, I had to share.

Happy 4th of July!

We hope everyone has a great day! Enjoy the fireworks for us as we will not get any up here due to the fires. It seems kind of weird to have the 4th with no fireworks...Arabella is still begging to see them, but I think the closest we will come is turning on the television. BTW - these pics are from our pool adventures last night.

The Big P.T.

Around here, P.T. stands for Potty Trained! We are so proud of our big boy. These are some pics with his beloved dog, Pongo. He is such a little love.
