A Picture I Love

I just love this picture. The kids were headed out for their nightly walk with their Daddy and Arabella had asked for her sunglasses. Since Sissy had the glasses, Blakey wanted them as well. I asked them to stop for a quick picture and they posed so sweet. One might think it was cold by their clothing, but it was actually about 65 degrees at this time. They have been leaving at dusk and going into this valley to watch the deer who come out to graze. It gets pretty chilly when they are sitting there so I have been bundling them up. They usually stay gone for about and hour, so this way they only come back with ice cube hands. The kids love their Daddy time and Mommy gets some peaceful clean-up time. Everyone is happy.

She's a Girl...

Arabella comes up with some real zingers for me every day - I can't believe the things that come out of her mouth - how much she takes in and how she is growing up so much everyday. Last week she gave me a good giggle when I picked her up from school. She was very excited that there was a new girl in her class that day. Her name was Emily and they had played and had a great time. I commended her for making friends with a new girl as she tends to be focused on her little clique of girlfriends. I asked her what they played, what she was like and what kind of things she liked...my last question was "Does she like twirly skirts?" (a requirement for Arabella). Arabella looked at me with this silly look and said, "Mom, she's a girl!" and rolled her eyes as though I had asked the most ridiculous question on earth. I guess it's no longer a day for me until my 4 year old makes me feel like a goofy old Mom.

Can you say 'MA MA'...'DA DA'...

The race is on for Gary and I as we try to coax our final child into saying our own name first. I own the bragging rights to Arabella and Blake, who both spouted out 'Ma Ma' long before 'Da Da.' Gary thinks I am sitting around here all day eating my bon bons and teaching Liv to say 'Ma Ma.' If ony he knew...

She has joined the ranks of a "Gozer" as she is now a destructor like her big brother and sister - ripping apart anything that gets into her tiny fingers grasp. She can't crawl yet, but can somehow manage six feet across the room in the blink of an eye. Look out world...
